Arabian Horse Ranch in Olympia
My husband's Grandmother, Arliss WILDER grew up in the Mud Bay area of Olympia, WA on the Wilder Ranch. Pure bred Arabian horses encompassed the whole valley, including the part where the 101 hiway is now located.
Arliss loved to be out in nature - especially among the majestic horses.
Today this Ranch is a Hereford Cattle Ranch with the GALVIN name.
Descendants of Franklin E. WILDER and Saluda KILDOW.
Franklin WILDER married Saluda KILDOW on 24 January 1920 and they had two daughters.
Child (in order) | Birthdate | Deathdate | Married & Notes |
---|---|---|---|
Arliss B. WILDER | 21 Feb 1921 | 17 Feb 2007 | 1950 to Knight GALVIN |
Helen L. WILDER | 6 Mar 1924 | 29 Dec 2007 | To Mr. DUTTON |
Interesting Ancestry Note:
The family story is that somewhere among the Wilder name you will find a connection to the Pioneers, Almanzo James Wilder and Laura Elizabeth Ingalls (from Little House on the Prairie books).
Well in my search I believe I found the connection. Almanzo's father was James Mason Wilder > his father was Abel Wilder > his father was William Wilder....So Almanzo's Great-Grandfather was a brother to John Wilder (our ancestery line).
Believe me that took some genealogy digging!
